"Good tidings of great joy"

Nothing gets the Christmas Spirit flowing quite like a Nativity re-enactment. Am I right? Yeah, I am.
What better way to remember that a Savior is born
Personally, I'm surprised that the angel outfits last as long as they do before getting stained. I guess all that dreaming of a white Christmas helps...
Anyway, Merry Christmas to all the peoples (and all the Creechers too!) And we'll see you in 2016!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas time; Santa, cookies, and Santa cookies. Snow, angels, snow angels and snow angel cookies! Where was I going with this? Oh yeah! It's that time of the year again, that time of peace on earth, good will to men, women and Creecher's alike. Speaking of whom, the Creecher's found these online, at mormon.org, and wanted me to share with you what they're celebrating this Christmas. Don't hesitate to go there and print off your own and share your own glad tidings. Merry Christmas!

Hallo, Halloween!

Here's something you might recognize.... of course, you might not too. It depends how long you've been keeping up with the going's on going on with these guys.
Allow me to explain. This picture is from last Halloween, just a couple months before I decided to start this blog, so those of you who weren't aware of us before then wouldn't recognize this picture. I did however, post it to my face book last October, and that's how some of you may recognize it. No worries if this is your first time seeing it, we understand completely.
Either way, it's Halloween once again, so now I can post this to here as a patriotic retro post, and not have it weirdly out of place, like it would have been at any other point throughout the almost year this blog's been around.

It's Autumn!

It's that time of year again! Breathe in that fall air! The weather has made a turn to chilly, the leaves are abandoning their roots (pun intended), and pumpkins are showing up everywhere. This beautiful season calls for a drawing! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be leaf-ing.

Presently presenting Jeffery.

If you would, please allow me the privilege of introducing a Creecher who's stuck around since the very first days of the Creecher Universe. Don't believe me? That's him on the farthest left here, and on the right beside Ray here.
This is Jeff, dubbed Jeff 'Bear hugs' on account of his trademark embraces; so tight, they're almost chiropractic, but still congenially therapeutic. Speaking of big words, Jeff wants me to point out that the reason hugs are such a relief is that they release oxytocin and serotonin, which, without getting to deep into it, bring about feelings of trust, empathy, and joy, doing away with loneliness, stress, and anger.
He also knows that along with a hug, a big smile, and just being there to listen can make a world of difference. We won't go into the psychological terminology behind all that, no matter how much Jeff wants to, because if we do, you'll get bored.
With his big heart, big smile, and winning hugs, it's no wonder Jeffery has stood the test of time, and will most likely continue to for many years to come.

From Hero to There-o

About four months before this blog started up, I had the idea to peer into the subconscious of our dear Creecher's in what I called the 'Dream Collection' , and I drew a draft of the work below, along with the piece featured in 'Second Post', and was fully ready to draw more. Unfortunately, the idea ended up put to the side when my location changed, and this drawing stayed untouched, until now.
So, here it is, looking great, and you know.... I still don't know who's dreaming; Mark, or Alexa?

They call him 'Shorty'

Since these three all have one common factor, that being the lovable pre-teen known solely as Shorty, I figured it'd be okay to throw 'em in all at the same time.
You know what? This is a good time to officially introduce Shorty to you all. Shorty's family is the newest on the block, they're all welcomed with open arms; Gregory, Suzanne, and their two boys, Mark and Shorty.
Shorty is victim of a nick-name that fits him like an ugly glove whose interior is coated with superglue. (I stand by my metaphor.) That is to say, people know and grow familiar with his nickname long before they even know he has an actual name. Luckily, it doesn't bother him.... too much...
Tenea thinks the world of Shorty, from the first moment she sees him. Unfortunately, no one told Shorty. The poor fella most of the time is oblivious to, or scared of the possibility of a romantic relationship.
I drew this next piece one day in French class when literally nothing was going on. You know, one of those days when the majority of the already minuscule class was on a field trip of some sort. To justify drawing it, I translated it, to the best of my 12th grade French ability. Either way, it's evident Shorty doesn't mind a few quiet hours with nature.
Of course, nature isn't the only place he can relax, though it's a rarity to catch him like this, he knows the only way to keep his grades up, is to stay well rested.

Summer days!

Hot off the editing process, this beauty. The shading was a nightmare, especially that sunset, but it was so worth it! I first drew this in the last few months of school. Wishful thinking, I suppose. It took two tries drawing and editing to get it to it's current state of absolute perfection. Lots of work, but it's my creation, my baby. I couldn't give up on it.
I think my other favorite thing about this one is that adorable crab in the bottom left corner.

Story time, kids.

Here's another introduction to a lesser known. Because, why stop at one, am I right?
This is Rick, another Creecher who you saw the first time when the background was changed.  However, Rick has a bit more of a history to him, in more ways than one. He was first conceived long before the background was even an idea, as part of a Social studies project. Rick represented individualism, and demonstrated how it benefited the common good.
Rick is still just as cool as when he first escaped the tip of the pencil, being one of few who can overlook the impracticality of wearing sunglasses, but he doesn't let it go to his head. In fact, anyone'll tell you, he's anything but exclusive, and takes time to help out whenever he can.

All 'Creecher's' of our God and King....

(Re)Introducing Bethany, the one Creecher who didn't appear in a work previous to her conception in the background you're staring at. I figured she deserved an official introduction, because you guys have never seen her before.
Beth is the sweetest, the kindest, the most loving Creecher up to this point. She sees beauty and kindness in everything. This is probably why she's so easy to get along with. As you can see, not even natural enemies can be contentious around her sweet persona. She is truly a wonder.

Hold on, the light will come

I've always found comfort in the music from Micheal Mclean, ever since I was little. Recently, I've tried a couple times now to do something inspirational inspired from one of his songs which I grew up with, and I liked this drawing, So with a bit of work, it's finally good enough looking. So without further adieu, this drawing was inspired by this song, take a listen and see if I matched the mood.

You may notice this

Yeah, I changed the look of the blog. Nothing major, it's just a little more personalized, with a 'Brady-bunch'-esque drawing filling up the background, similar to this one:

All of the characters you see before you have made previous appearances in my drawings. Excluding one..... and a half. Not all have previously appeared on my Blog though, but this is to change that.

Well, Con-graduations are in order...

Well, whether it was just recently for you, or a long way back, school is ending for the Summer vacation. And for some, it's graduation season.
Here's to those who've reached the end of a lengthy sidewalk, and are about to make their own paths, good luck, and find joy in the journey before the destination.

Horsin' around with Daddy

A Dad is a great thing. Like, a really great thing. A fantastic thing. You and I both know why. They help you figure out how to hold the hammer right, how to tie a tie, they check out those creepy noises at night,"By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families." (The Family: A Proclamation to the World)

Long time, no posts

Why hello!
It's been a long time since I posted anything because I've been too busy making up an excuse for my absence. So, here is a trip down memory lane. Partially because I don't have much else to offer in this actually quite busy time, but also, one of the teacher's at my high school is retiring, and when I first made this, it was because several teachers at my previous high school were retiring, and this was my goodbye to them.
So in light of recent events, I felt it necessary to shake the dust off this piece. By the way, I promise more is coming.

Mommy's hugs, just what the Doctor ordered

Happy Mother's Day Mothers!
I'm fairly confident I speak for the entire population of the world when I say that we all love you, even if we don't show it twenty-four/seven like we oughta. You rock!
To my Mom, I just want to say that although this gift isn't exactly tangible, it's from the bottom of my heart. I wouldn't be the same guy if I didn't have Mommy's hugs, and this is my way of saying thanks. You've been my inspiration, guidance, and so much more.
Hey, all you people who aren't mothers, I gotta question for ya. Have you hugged your Mom today?

P.S. I hope you peoples don't mind. Because this was such a simple drawing, I decided to experiment. I think it makes it look nice, however, they won't all look like this in the future.

It's Easter Sunday!

It's that time of the year, the celebration of new beginnings, new life, and somehow bunnies, chickens, chocolate and other sugary delights worked there way in. I'm not complaining, it's just they seem to have taken over from the original source of celebration! Which brings me to today's drawing:

This year, tell the stories of Jesus, and the fact that * number-sign He Lives, and because of that, we have hope for our future. Our god is, truly, an awesome God.

*Yeah, I know it's not called a number sign in that context, but I'm old-fashioned.

Happy Birthday Maren!!

So, one of my dedicated readers and close friends has her birthday today, and since she's one of literally two of my American friends, I drew a birthday drawing just for her: Happy birthday Maren!

The Armor of God

Hi, dedicated readers! And the rest of you too. I've been trying to do an armor of God picture since General Conference last year, which proved a challenge when I realized helmets would prove impractical. Anyhow, this one is by far my best work. My main aids for this picture were Ephesians 6, and We are all Enlisted. Don't trust Scripture Power, it's not entirely accurate.
Just a side note, I decided to change the pupil style. I think this looks nicer, don't hurt me.

Love is in the air...

Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you're spending it with that special someone or yourself is all the company you need, here's a little doodle I put together for this day specially designed to show love (something that ought to be done everyday, but that's beside the point):
Remember, love is all you need.

Two for one

For the record, and the about two of you who don't know, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or more commonly, the Mormon's, and proud to be one. The works today and probably several times in the future, will display that.
First off, this piece was started months ago, and only a couple weeks ago did I come back and add to it, making it what it is today. The caption around it comes from one of my favorite songs for LDS Youth, 'Priesthood Men' you can listen to it here. Just search it on the right hand side.
Of course, with the kind of guy that I am, having made one for young men, I had to make one for young women, to even the playing field. I tried not to just make an exact duplicate with eyelashes and dresses, and I think it worked out really well. The caption is from an LDS hymn you can listen to here.
